I’ve been reading and enjoying The Kit in the Toronto Star for years and I was thrilled when they offered me the chance to try their favourite beauty products. The Kit One-Minute Miracles edition came out last month and with that, they sent me a big beautiful box of products!
I have to admit that I loved everything in the box (including the pretty pink wrapping paper), but for the sake of a consumable blog post, I’ll share my top 5 One-Minute Miracles today.
Bioderma Sensibio H20, $33 (500 mL), drugstores nationwide
If you have sensitive skin like I do, you should definitely look into Bioderma products. When I opened the box of One-Minute Miracles from The Kit, I wasn’t surprised to see Bioderma’s magnificent makeup remover in there. It’s the best makeup remover I’ve ever used and it’s as gentle as water on my sensitive skin. Saturate a cotton pad by pushing down on the pump and wipe away even the most stubborn liquid liners and waterproof mascaras.
Consonant Skin Perfecting Body Scrub, $30, consonant.com
In the season of skin, it’s more important than ever to slough away dry skin and moisturize. Why not kill two birds with one stone in the shower? The sugar and salt combination in this scrumptiously citrus scented scrub work to exfoliate skin while its glycerine base leaves you with a super-smooth finish. Developed with the experts at Fuzz Wax Bar, it also helps to make your wax last longer. I keep this scrub in my shower all year round – winter skin saver too!
Aveda Dry Remedy Moisturizing Masque, $34, aveda.com
If it’s not dry winter air, it’s harsh summer sun wreaking havoc on our hair. Dry, sun-damaged locks are prone to breakage and it’s important to indulge in a moisture masque at least once a week. I love Aveda’s newly reformulated Dry Remedy Moisturizing Masque. In just two minutes, my hair feels softer and stronger and there’s no greasy residue. Of course, who doesn’t love a shower with Aveda’s signature aromatic products – I love the way my hair feels AND smells!
Dermalogica Antioxidant Hydramist, $49 (150 mL), dermalogica.ca
This is another product I’ve been using for years, so I wasn’t surprised to see it in my One-Minute Miracles delivery. After a thorough cleansing, I religiously spritz my face and decolletage with this lightweight, nourishing and hydrating mist. Not only does it feel refreshing, but antioxidant rich ingredients like white tea, licorice and vitamin E fight free radicals to improve the texture of your skin, while firming and moisturizing. I never leave home without it!
Olay Total Effects 7-in-1 Dark Circle Minimizing CC Cream Brush, $25, mass market retailers nationwide
Anti-aging, moisturizing, illuminating AND concealing all in one easy to use and compact tube! Where do I sign up?! With super fair skin, I’ve always dealt with dark circles under my eyes, even after a good night’s sleep. If there’s one product I need in my beauty routine, it’s concealer, so I was intrigued by the 7-in-1 claims of this Olay product. It certainly provides moisture and illuminates the under-eye area, but I still needed to layer additional concealer on top to really cover my dark circles. It’s a great base though, and perfect for those “no makeup” days.
Clarins Double Serum Complete Age Control Concentrate, $85, sephora.ca
Okay, I know I said this is a top 5 post, but I just had to include this Clarins serum as a close contender. I’ve been using it for two weeks and I’m LOVING it. I wouldn’t call it a one-minute miracle because you need to use it consistently to see results, but I was hooked pretty fast! My skin feels soft, yet firm and hydrated with this double serum packed with 20 pure plant extracts – after just two weeks I’ve noticed a more even complexion and reduced pore size. It absorbs quickly without any greasy residue and smells absolutely wonderful – you gotta try it!
So, if you’re on the lookout for some life-changing beauty products, I can personally vouch for these One-Minute Miracles from The Kit. CLICK HERE to see the full list.
